Having been jet-setting around the world for the last six weeks, we're pleased to announce that Lashings World XI Chairman David Folb has returned to the UK.
During the last six weeks, he has been to places as far afield as Barbados, Abu Dhabi, Brunei, Auckland ,Christchurch, Hamilton, Queenstown and Brisbane, spent Christmas with Chris and Linda Harris at their home in New Zealand, caught up with Lashings alumni Mark Waugh and Greg Blewett at the 'Gabba and met with all kinds of players, managers and organisers.
"It's been one hell of a trip" said Folb, "but it's certainly been worth it, as hopefully some new tours and some exciting new players will come out of the trip. I'm certainly glad to be back though, it's been pretty gruelling!"
His first major announcement upon his return was to confirm the signing of current Zimbabwean wicketkeeper/batsman Brendan Taylor for the 2008 Lashings season as well as the Lashings World XI Cricket Festival in Abu Dhabi - one of what he hopes will be several new signings for the 2008 season.
