Robin Syrett, the Deputy Chairman of the Lashings World XI, reached a milestone last week as he reached his 70th birthday. Always a man with an eye for the big occasion, he celebrated in style at the Queens Tennis Club in London. David Folb, the Chairman of the Lashings World XI, was in attendance while Scott "the Voice" Charlton carried out MC's duties and the musical entertainment was provided by Henry Olonga.
The age-old problem of shopping for appropriate presents was easily solved as well - in the invitations to the event, Robin stated that he did not wish to receive presents, instead he would like his guests to make donations to two of Lashings' favourite charities. As a result of this selfless act, the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust and Our Forgotten Children benefited to the tune of over £5000, ending a fantastic day with a flourish.
