Update from Abu Dhabi

EMIRATES PALACE CRICKET FESTIVAL 2007

LASHINGS WORLD XI to headline.

The Emirates Palace Hotel are currently in negotiations to bring the World's premier Club cricket team, the Lashings World XI, to feature in an autumn cricket festival at the Abu Dhabi landmark Hotel. Lashings World XI Chairman David Folb, team manager Alvin Kallicharran and players representative Chris Cairns are currently at the Hotel finalising the proposal.

The very presence of Cairns and Kallicharran, two past superstars of cricket who represent the Lashings World XI, signify the prestige of the event and the intent on both sides to position Abu Dhabi as a key destination in the world of cricket.

The partnership between the Lashings World XI, the star studded team known as the "Harlem Globetrotters" of the cricketing world, and the Emirates Palace with its majestic location and its beautiful landscaped grounds make this a mouth watering sporting proposition.

Envisaged as a twice-yearly event, the hotel is hoping to ensure its guests and the wider Abu Dhabi community are able to benefit from the unique opportunity the Hotel has to host such a festival.

"We see this as a major marketing opportunity for Abu Dhabi as well as the Hotel, and a fantastic opportunity for sponsors to work with the Emirates Palace to maximise the lucrative potential of such a magnificent sporting occasion" said Hotel Executive Assistant Manager Gerhard Bosse.

Further enquiries regarding the Emirates Palace cricket Festival 2007 should be addressed to Festival coordinator Mr. Andy Elliott, Beach Club Director at the Emirates Palace Hotel (http://uk.f863.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=andy.elliott@kempinski.com).
