Angus Stewart, skipper of the Eastbourne College team in England, is excited at the prospect of playing against Sachin Tendulkar. The Indian master batsman has been signed for Lashings and Stewart can't wait to have a go at him.
"To get Sachin out would be a story I could tell for the rest of my life," said Stewart. "As an opening bowler I know that he is capable of hitting me for a six irrespective of where I pitch the ball but it will be great to bowl to a player of his stature.
"Our team members could not believe that Sachin was expected to play in the match because he is an all-time great of cricket. It will be great chance for us to learn from him by just watching him bat. I am sure thousands of people will descend on to our school ground from all around Eastbourne to see him play and that will be the biggest crowd we would have played in front of," said Stewart.
"When I heard we were playing Lashings, I was very excited and knew it would be a special day. However, when Sachin announced he was playing, I knew it would probably be the highlight of my cricketing career," he added.
Stewart is also an opening batsman who was one of the leading scorers last year and has been involved with the Sussex Academy
