With the 2008 Lombard Lashings UK Tour drawing to a close, Lashings chairman David Folb's thoughts have already been towards the future, as today he announced that he is in negotiations for Lashings to take part in a Twenty20 cricket tournament in Jamaica. Exact dates are to be confirmed but the tour is expected to take place somewhere around 7th November 2008.
The Lashings World XI's last visit to the Caribbean was in December 2006, when they took part in the "Jamaica Festival of Stars". During that visit they took part in the very first match to be held at the Trelawny Stadium in Montego Bay (the stadium that went on to host the opening ceremony of the 2007 World Cup) where they beat a Jamaica XI by 6 wickets, thanks to an outstanding unbeaten 81 from Sussex batsman Chris Adams, supported by an unbeaten 42 from Pakistani wicketkeeper Rashid Latif.
Dates and venues will be announced in due course.
